You will learn and apply advanced production tools and techniques to capture, edit, process and mix an audio recording. You choose from a list of tracks provided by the Edexcel.
Submission of a stereo mix between 3-3.5mins in length together with a recording logbook.
This component is about creating, editing, manipulating and structuring sounds to produce a technology-based composition to a brief set by the exam board. Synthesis, sampling/audio manipulation and creative effects use must be included. Total time of 3mins.

You will grow your knowledge and understanding of recording and production techniques/principles, in the context of a series of unfamiliar commercial recordings across a range of genres.
1.5hr written exam
You will build your understanding of editing, mixing and production techniques applied to unfamiliar audio and MIDI materials.
2hr 15min written and practical exam with 10mins to set up.
