The best possible preparation that our students can have to enter the working world and navigate a tough job market is to gain a structured work experience programme at a leading employer. QPCS students have very recently spent at least a week’s work experience at the following employers: GlaxoSmithKline, Barclays, NatWest, Mishcon De Reya (law firm), Jo Hambro and Oakley Capital (both Investment Firms). One student has even secured a Paid Internship at Mount Street (a property investment firm) for the whole month of August.
All Year 12 pupils have been on trips with a wide variety of employers throughout the year including the Royal London Dental Hospital, HS2 (Women in Engineering workshop), Eldridge Capital (Real Estate), Wates Construction, Monday.com, Elders Voice, MAPP (Real Estate), NatWest, Simmons & Simmons (law firm), Fashion Capital and many others.
For the week beginning the 4th May, we wished our Year 13 students the very best as they completed their final week of lessons before the start of their A Level and BTEC examinations on Monday 11th May.
To celebrate the occasion, the Sixth Form student leaders organised a fantastic “Spirit Week”, with students dressing up in a different theme each day and bringing plenty of energy and fun to the final week of lessons. Themes included:
Students also took part in the much-anticipated Teachers vs Students football match on Thursday afternoon. In a closely contested game, the students narrowly claimed victory with an exciting 6–5 win over staff.
To round off the week, we held our traditional farewell celebration at break time in the Sixth Form study room. Students and staff came together to enjoy food, sign leavers’ shirts, share memories and even enjoy some dancing as we marked the end of an important chapter for our Year 13 cohort. We look forward to coming together once again to celebrate at our Year 13 Graduation celebration, which will take place after all examinations have been completed on Friday 26th June.
