QPCS is proud of the large number of clubs and activities organised by staff and sixth form students.
These include sports clubs (football, rugby, basketball, badminton, netball), arts clubs (drama, art, choir, wind band, dance, steel pans), technology clubs and special interest clubs e.g. chess. The library, computer room and facilities for homework are also available after school.
We run a full revision programme during the February half-term as well as during the Spring holidays. GCSE and A level examination candidates have been very positive about the benefit of this additional support.
We are continuing with our application for Eco school status and there will be activities for students to develop their leadership and participation in activities that support QPCS becoming a more sustainable organisation with a lower carbon footprint.
We are always happy to expand further the provision of clubs, after school and weekend activities for our students. We look forward to your suggestions.
The MUGA is used throughout the PE curriculum, during extra-curricular clubs and also at break-times.
The facility has three separate areas. Students have access to netball, tennis, outdoor basketball and 5 a-side football facilities, as well as providing the PE department with further scope to widen the curriculum to include hockey, futsal and European handball amongst other less mainstream sports.
The sports/activities offered at break-times will vary throughout the academic year. The break-time rota to use the MUGA is as follows:
| Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Break 1 | Years 9, 10 & 11 | Years 9, 10 & 11 | Years 9, 10 & 11 | Years 9, 10 & 11 | Years 9, 10 & 11 |
| Break 2 | Years 7 & 8 | Years 7 & 8 | Years 7 & 8 | Years 7 & 8 | Years 7 & 8 |
These excellent facilities are also in full use during PE lessons and in afterschool sports clubs everyday:
