About our Sixth Form

Welcome

Thank you for considering Queens Park Community School (QPCS) Sixth Form, a vibrant community of high achievers. Our exceptional A-Level and BTEC results, celebrated once again in the local press last summer, are a testament to the dedication and talent of our students. Student Leaders

Malak - Senior Student Leader

Through studying A Level English literature, politics and psychology at QPCS, I have developed my communication skills, teamwork and adaptability, while also strengthening my ability to think critically, express my ideas confidently and approach challenges from different perspectives. This sixth form has provided me with countless opportunities, including several university trips, which broadened my aspirations and encouraged me to become more independent.

As Senior Student Leader, I have developed my confidence and leadership skills by supporting younger students, representing the student body and contributing to school events. These experiences have taught me the importance of responsibility, organisation and empathy. I believe my time at QPCS sixth form has prepared me to embrace new challenges and make a positive contribution to university life. After all, our sixth form is not simply about achieving good grades; it is about fostering a supportive community where everyone feels safe, valued and comfortable.

Jeremiah - Senior Student Leader

My time at QPCS has been an exciting and challenging experience.

On the exciting side, meeting new people and adapting to a new curriculum, alongside teachers and classmates who made me feel like part of a family made my learning journey genuinely enjoyable.

As for the challenges, adapting to a new school environment, overcoming language barriers, and joining the school in Year 9, all helped redefine me. I gained a deeper understanding of myself not only because the school provided all the resources I needed, but because I learned that I am capable of anything when I find the voice of courage within.

Staying at this school was the right decision. The person I have become is someone who will always strive to be better than the one who started.

Amar - Senior Student Leader

After finishing GCSEs, I was motivated to change environments as I was keen to study new subjects in a school and meet new people. However, continuing my studies through to Sixth Form at QPCS was the best decision I could have made. There is a real balance between having freedom to become more independent and knowing that you still have people around you who are willing to support you. Whether you are in the classroom, common room, or library the heartiness of QPCS's community is present.

With opportunities to excel inside the classroom- with enthusiastic teachers and diligent, encouraging classmates; and outside of the classroom- with countless school events and extracurricular fun; you realise that QPCS is a caring, happy place that propels you to blossom.

Prisha - Senior Student Leader

The reason I chose to stay at QPCS for sixth form is because of all the extra support that you get. It offers an environment where students are supported to grow academically and personally, where some of the teachers hold extra sessions before and after school to offer any additional help or questions you may have about specific topics. The teachers are extremely dedicated, and especially with small class sizes, the lessons are more interactive and engaging, allowing you to achieve your best.

We are also given many career opportunities too, such as the chance to attend work experience or participate in mentoring programmes, which lets you experience a vast range of fields, and is extremely helpful when deciding what career path to go down in the future. Developing skills needed for work, and being able to put these experiences on your CV is extremely valuable and one of the best things about the sixth form.

Finally, the friendships I have made at the school have been incredible, and being in such an inclusive environment has made my time at QPCS the most enjoyable.
