At QPCS we put an emphasis on literacy skills and expect every student to have a reading book with them at all times. The more regularly your child reads, the more literacy skills will improve.
Inside your child's school diary is a reading record to monitor their progress and a list of KS3 key words that year 7, 8 and 9 students will need to understand and spell in order to make good progress across the curriculum. Do encourage your child to read frequently and regularly at home. Ensure they complete their reading record and it would be particularly helpful if you made time to test them on the spelling and meaning of their key words. In addition to homework, your child should be reading 30 minutes a day.

QPCS Library - search, browse or reserve books online
The library link above allows students to access their own QPCS library account, where they can search by genre, title, author or subject. To help students find a book they will enjoy, they can browse Recommended Reading Lists by teachers and fellow students. The site also provides recommended reads based on the books they have enjoyed in the past.
