Welcome to the PTFA
On behalf of the PTFA I would like to invite you to join us at our next PTFA meeting.
We have monthly meetings at 7pm in the school. These meetings are not only about making decisions but are a great way to meet other QPCS parents.
All QPCS staff, parents and students are automatically members of one of the most dynamic and active parent/teacher organisations in the area.
If meetings are not for you then you can also help by offering an hour or two at one of our events and make a real contribution to helping the school.
Last year was another really great year for the PTFA. We raised over Ł10,000! Final figure to be announced as money is still coming in for the fun run! There were three major fundraisers and support to school events such as the show and concerts. Winter term saw a really great bingo night. In the spring term we held the famous quiz night and in the summer term was the carnival and fun run, which is surely now established as a true community event. Our main drive was to raise money for the outside areas to be covered and have furniture and lights. (This is a great addition to the school). We are supported by Winkworth Estate Agents and the Queens Park Area Residents Association.
All these things would not have been possible without the support of a fantastic PTFA team. Many, many people helped all year round. A massive thank you to you all. In particular I would like to thank Sarah for her organisation of the three events, David for his on going commitment to the summer carnival in particular, Emma for the fun run, Caroline, Kate, Miranda and Ayan for the home cooking at the bingo and quiz nights.
Other ways to support your PTFA are by using The Giving Machine; Gift aiding; spreading the word that Winkworth’s donate when a house is sold if recommended by a parent. For more information about all our fundraisers click here.
Every student benefits from the funds raised by the PTFA.
Recent money raised has been used for projects such as
• the canopy outside the canteen.
• sound system in the rebuilt hall.
• refurbishing the smaller gym with equipment.
• sponsoring Year 11 on their prom night.
• support of the Duke of Edinburgh scheme.
• drums for the music department.
