In 2008, QPCS set up a Green Team within the school to raise awareness of environmental issues and to look at ways in which the school could tackle those issues. The initiative was led by Charlie, a former QPCS student, and in spite of the fact that he was studying for his GCSEs, he did an enormous amount in the school. In order to celebrate that achievement he applied for a Shout Out Award from the Sheila McKechnie Foundation. Charlie was not only shortlisted but he was the overall winner!
