National School Championship County finalsOn Wednesday 22nd February three teams from Queens Park competed in the National School Championship County finals. The level of play within the competition was exceptionally high. Both girls and boys senior team came 5th and 4th respectively in their competition. The junior team consisting of 4 year 9 girls Amiel Fabrigas, Simhika Pindoria, Natisha Williams and Maya Broadhurst Wilson, they gave an outstanding performance winning their pool matches comfortably, thus making it through to the final. They faced tough competition from North London Collegiate and fought hard however, they finished 2nd in the competition after an amazing performance. Well done to all!
On Wednesday 1st February, Queens Park’s Year 7 had their third clean sheet in a row. We had a sensational game and the final score showed it as we won 9 - 0! The defence was solid, which gave the midfielders the freedom to spread the ball across the pitch, creating opportunities for the strikers to score some goals. In the past four games, the boys have shown outstanding performances and have played to the best of their abilities!

Students Represent England
On the 28th - 29th of January 2012 Nathan Fullerton and Paige Fullerton represented England cadets (under 17s) in a volleyball tournament in the Sparkassen-Rondo Cup in Austria. The tournament consisted of teams such as Friedrichshafen, Tirol, VLW and Liceo Meda and Austria’s national team UVC Graz. For the boys, they had a clean sweep through the preliminary rounds without losing a set (each game consisted of best out of 3 sets, each set has to be won by gaining 25 points or higher if there are two clear points). They also won the quarter and semi-finals without dropping a set, but in the finals we had a tough time facing Austria’s national team – UVC Graz and we lost the first set. In the second set we came back winning, in the final set however England cadets lost out on winning the gold meaning UVC Graz won the competition and England cadets received silver.
The girls’ team won 1 out of 3 games which was a big accomplishment because this was the first time playing in an international tournament as a team. It was a great experience as we got to travel around the country and got to experience how other international teams play and how we would improve against them next time so it was a great learning experience. Hopefully next time we can come back with a medal!
The pair are next due to play in the UK Schools competition in May!
Year 7 Football
The Year 7 team took one step closer to the semi finals of the Brent
League with an emphatic victory over Newman Catholic College.
The boys were made to work hard for their opportunities in the first 15
minutes but when the first goal went in the flood gates opened, ending in a
9 - 0 rout. The quality of football is ever improving with strong displays from
back to front. Yemi, Sharmarke and Joseph were relentless in defence,
enabling Dominic, Dean and Dylan to pull the strings in midfield. Kian
continued his goal scoring run adding 4 more goals to his tally, while Isaac
and Finbar also created havoc in and around Newman’s box. Next Match
– Alperton 25th Jan (Brent League).
